Van Attendant - Entry Level

Position: Van Attendant – Entry Level
Pay Rate: Competitive Hourly Wage (Depending on Experience) + safety bonus
Schedule: 8 on 6 off. 10-hour, split shifts
Area: Battle Mountain Rebuild Shop
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the maintenance superintendent and the light vehicle supervisor, van attendants are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and functions of our light vehicle fleet. Those responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Verify and document all mechanical issues and maintenance requirements
- Coordinating vehicle maintenance with vendors – pick-up and delivery
- Ensuring each vehicle is equipped with all safety requirements for a mine site
- Fueling, washing, and checking fluids on our light vehicle fleet (vans and pickup trucks)
- Keeping an accurate account of vehicles assigned to individuals and site crews
- Communicating with the light vehicle supervisor regarding their schedules and tasks
- Hazard recognition and mitigation
- Participation in risk assessments and following SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Conducting thorough pre-operational inspections on vehicles
Experience and Qualification Requirements
Applicants must:
- Work with a safety-first mind set and maintain situational awareness at all times.
- Have the ability to review MSDS and encourage proper PPE.
- Possess a current driver’s license and have an insurable driving record.
- Be able to safely drive in year-round weather conditions.
- Be able to perform routine and repetitive tasks without immediate supervision.
- Have strong organizational skills.
- Be able to professionally communicate and interact effectively with others.
- Possess exceptional workplace housekeeping habits.
- Have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Beneficial Skills but not required:
- Have experience in light vehicle maintenance
